Jujutsu Kaisen 0 : Our Review

We had the wonderful opportunity to attend a media screening of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 before it started showing in theatres on March 10. We’d like to thank Purple Plan for the tickets!

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a captivating film: From its beautiful storytelling, gorgeous animation, to the amazing soundtrack. The movie is set before the actual events of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, featuring the (current) 2nd year students Inumaki Toge, Zenin Maki, and Panda. Okkotsu Yuta is the new arrival. Even with the familiar faces from the anime, the film remain centered around its protagonist, Yuta.

This strengthens its story to be that of a prequel, rather than a spinoff of the anime. The events of the movie do hype us up for the upcoming second season of the anime! For someone who isn't acquainted with the Jujutsu Kaisen anime or manga, they can still hop in and thoroughly enjoy the movie, which we find to be a great feature. The fight sequences and expressions are animated wonderfully, with the dynamic actions backdropped by the amazing soundtrack. Those who are already fans of the series should definitely not miss this since it provides sneak peaks into the older chapters in the lives of their favourite characters. (psst, Gojo Satoru is still as beautiful as ever)
