The show started in 1996, and has grown both in size of its popularity among the people, as well as its regular cast. It consists mainly of different “corners” of games and interaction between the regulars and guests, though some of the corners are never repeated more than once.

Mechaggington

One of the more regular corners is called Mechaggington, where the cast and guest dress up as trains from the cartoon series Chuggington. The game is simple. It is a rhythm game and players play by replying to the onomatopoeia of the previous subject. If objections are raised, the bell will ring, and the player that has failed to answer will be dragged into a full train car of big sized men as punishment. Some special episodes such as SMAP’s 24 hour television feature female MMA fighters, who really dish out punishment in terms of chokes, kicks and slams to the unfortunate players.

Special Episodes

Special episodes are also present in the show such as the “End of Term Exam”, where the guests are given middle school tests and the talents, artistes and regulars fight it out in the battle of wits to not be crowned the stupidest person of the year.

Series Regulars

The 2 main regulars of the series, Yabe and Okamura, are often given offers to try various things, such as performing in EXILE’s concert, and also other odd jobs.

Recommended Episode

A recent episode worth watching is Oshima Yuko’s graduation celebration from AKB48, where she is dragged on to film consecutive days and pranked at every turn of the way, even by fellow members of AKB48 such as Watanabe Mayu and Minegishi Minami.
