NTU JAC Subcommittee Night 2015

We held our very first Subcomm meeting on Monday (24/8) to welcome all the new Subcomm members for the coming AY.

What’s a Japanese club without Japanese food? :) We helped ourselves to dinner which came in two varieties, tempura and katsu don. おいしい~!

We had introductions from the main comm members, along with their sharing of their favorite places, music, movies, anime, and manga from Japan. Do you have the same interests as some of them? Maybe you could click with them!

After all that sitting and listening, it was time to get active, and what better way than through games! Each group had to have 5-6 people with at least 1 senior and 1 from a different committee.

Our mission: To locate where Godzilla had gone to in Japan.

We had to figure out the various places which Godzilla had visited through a collection of photos. Were you able to figure out all 10 places? (I sure didn’t (笑))

Through the help of everyone, we managed to locate Godzilla but… he was hungry~ We had to do something or who knew what a hungry Godzilla would do to Japan? That’s where we went about hunting hiragana cards scattered all over the school and forming names of food to feed the dreaded Godzilla.

What are the various types of food that you could make up with the hiragana character chart? Food for thought :)

Soon enough, we managed to satisfy his hunger, and Japan was saved! イエーイ~

After the calculation of the results, we had 2 tie-breakers between the 1st & 2nd and 3rd & 4th team.

The challenge for the first tie-breaker was to come up with a name of the food with the highest number of hiragana characters.

The second tie-breaker was a game of jankenpon (Rock, paper & scissors) due to a lack of time. ><

Soon after, prizes were given out and it was time to head home. :’(
