JAC Christmas Party 2015

Along with the excitement of Christmas, in came the annual JAC Christmas Party. It was held the day before Christmas Eve, allowing us to fully enjoy the festivities for an additional day.

First on the agenda was the delicious buffet dinner, with different types of vegetables, meats, and the ‘must-have’ turkey. Would it be a sin to confess that, I actually loved the dessert, chocolate éclairs, the most out of the entire selection?

The highlight of the evening was the Sushi Making contest, focusing on the creativity of the participants, A.K.A us, on making (hopefully Pokémon-themed) sushi based on ANY, and I really mean any, ‘ingredients’ we can find in the room in a given time limit. Participants were really creative, if I may add. There was multiple Pokémon-themed ones, along with some non-themed ones such as the ‘Love Story’ or the ‘Lobster’, or even the different variations of Christmas trees. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all had fun making the sushi, and telling stories about our creations.

To follow on the excitement through the contest, there was a Pokémon Treasure Hunt, where we had to find different items in different colours. That was hard. In the list was ‘hard-to-find’ things like Nokia phones, fires, pins, and so on. These are colour coded into blue, red or green, just like the colours of the starter Pokémon. Participants were rushing around the room finding colour cards, or items to match the lists they were given.

To end off the evening, a gift exchange took place, where the sounds of paper tearing filled the room. There was a frenzy of photo-taking and happy squeals as people saw their gifts. With that, the party was over, leaving a trail of happy memories in the hearts of members, waiting for the next Christmas.

Until the next event!
